What is Muscle Testing

The body has within it and surrounding it an electrical network or grid, which is pure energy. Because energy runs through the muscles in your body, if anything impacts your electrical system that does not maintain or enhance your body’s balance, your muscles will virtually “short circuit” or weaken - not dramatically enough to be noticed outside of a kinesiology-type muscle testing but systematically enough for you to be rather surprised during the session!

Kinesiology has developed the testing of over 50 surface and deeper muscles in the human body. Each of these is associated with a Meridian according to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) which can also give indications as to where the priority disruption is occurring : Nutritional, Energetic or electromagnetic, Emotional or Mental,  or Structural - more likely a combination of these.

Most importantly muscle testing will show equally what modality/technique/supplement is best to promote health and restore balance or homeostasis.

------------

In the 80s the use of muscle testing has been redefined by the BodyTalk System as the Art of 'muscle checking' in order to differentiate the technique from its use in Kinesiology.

As in many kinesiology branches (but not all) BodyTalk uses this technique in order to get a yes/no binary biofeedback, literally allowing the practitioner to ask questions to the Bodymind.

What BodyTalk describes as 'Innate wisdom' (Bodymind) can be understood as that part of the Subconscious mind which knows at any given moment what is happening within and without (internal and external environment at all levels) and can therefore maintain homeostasis (balance) at best it can given the stressors that each of us carry.

BodyTalkers are trained to follow a very systematic and extraordinarily well designed protocol that simply doesn't leave anything out - Indeed as in any yes/no answer system, asking the right question is the key!

A PHD study of Muscle testing

Oxford University was recently involved in research into Muscle Response Testing, the primary tool of any Kinesiologist (and BodyTalker!).

When doctoral student Anne M Jensen first presented the results of her study on muscle response testing, the results were so impressive that the university staff didn't believe them and made her repeat the study to replicate the results.

This she did.

The sceptical faces were now interested. The results of this unknown testing format surprised everyone... by being a whole lot more reliable than they ever imagined.

Having successfully completed her doctorate, Dr Jensen chose to have her research paper published open source and so the full study is now available online.
